7 - Data conversion

Over time, a great number of mass storage devices, data backup software, file systems, operating systems and application software has been used.

ict-expert offers conversion and transfer of data between a large variety of systems.

This service is intended for companies and individuals whose removable media storage device broke down, for those needing their data on a different system who don't have the possibility or the staff ressources to do it themselves and therefore simply want to outsource the service of converting and transferring data.

Cost?

As the preparation and setup efforts differ widely, especially when older hardware, older data backup software and older data storage technology are needed, it is not possible to provide lump sum pricing. Please contact us for an offer if you have data convversion or data transfer requirements.

For media, where the file system and/or the data backup software is unknown, we offer an identification service that costs EUR 40 excl. VAT per media. You will be provided with file system and version (if applicable) as well as with the name (if applicable) and version (again, if applicable) of the backup software used to write the media. In the unlikely case that we cannot identify the file system and backup software (if applicable), we obviously won't charge you the identification fee.

Furthermore, we can also offer retrieval of data from many external storage solutions where the controller used in the PC/server became defective. We currently support all HP/Compaq SmartArray controllers, a number of IBM NetRAID controllers as well as various other controllers (Adaptec, ICP Vortex/GDT etc.).
